Two arrested on suspicion of murder after man shot
Rob Smith/BBCTwo people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found shot dead in a woodland in Sheffield, police have said.
The man, who is yet to be identified, was found in Ecclesall Woods at about 18:45 BST on Wednesday by a member of the public.
South Yorkshire Police said a post-mortem examination had revealed he died as a result of a gunshot wound and that the investigation into what had happened "continues at pace".
The force said a 34-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were arrested in Manchester on Thursday on suspicion of murder and had since been bailed.
Oliver Wright/BBCDet Ch Insp Andy Knowles, leading the investigation, said: "This is a devastating incident which has led to a man losing his life, and our thoughts remain with all those who knew him."
Knowles said officers were keen to hear from people who may have captured footage of anyone entering the woods, or activity taking place as they drove past on Whirlowdale Road, on the evening of Tuesday 1 September or Wednesday 2 September.
"We are looking for anyone entering the woodland, leaving, or vehicles being used in a suspicious manner," he added.
"I urge you to get in touch with us."
