Man found shot dead in woodland named by police

A man found shot dead in a woodland in Sheffield has been named by police.

The body of Ryan Kettlewell, 38, from Sheffield, was found in Ecclesall Woods on Wednesday.

In a statement released through South Yorkshire Police, his family described him as a "lovable character who will be missed".

A 34-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man who were arrested in Manchester on Thursday on suspicion of murder have since been bailed.

His family added: "We will always continue to love him and will miss him greatly."

Police said the body was discovered by a member of the public at about 18:45 BST.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died as a result of a gunshot wound.

Det Ch Insp Andy Knowles said: "We are committed to finding answers of how Ryan lost his life.

"I continue to urge anyone with information about his death to get in touch, no matter how irrelevant or insignificant you believe it to be, it could be the missing piece we need.

"Our thoughts are with all those who knew and loved Ryan."
