Driver in his 80s badly injured in crash

A driver in his 80s suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash.

The man was driving a Kia Picanto which was in a collision with a Land Rover Defender towing a trailer on the A1065 Castle Acre Road, near the junction with the A47 for Swaffham.

Police said the crash had happened at about 13:45 BST on Monday and the road had been closed until 23:10.

The Kia driver remains in a critical condition in hospital. A passenger in the car, a woman also in her 80s, suffered serious injuries and is in a stable condition in hospital.

The driver of the Land Rover did not need hospital treatment. Norfolk Police has appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage.
