Woman in hospital after car strikes railings

A woman has sustained serious injuries in a crash involving a car that struck railings and a pedestrian in Derbyshire.

Emergency services were called to Buxton Road in Bakewell at about 09:40 BST on Monday.

Derbyshire Police said the crash involved a Land Rover that hit the railings and the pedestrian. No arrests have been made.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was taken to hospital "for serious injuries", where she remains, the force added. No-one else was hurt.
