Leeds Light Night to be held over school half-term
Leeds City CouncilMore than 40 art and light installations will go on display in Leeds in October as part of the city's annual Light Night Festival.
The event, which this year will celebrate 400 years since Leeds received its first Royal Charter from King Charles I in 1626, will be held over the half-term holiday for the first time.
Large scale projections will be beamed onto buildings and streets across the city centre as part of the festival, with the full programme set to be revealed at the end of September.
Light Night will take place across Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October from 18:00 to 21:00 GMT both nights.
Leeds City Council, which organises the event, said moving Light Night to half-term and after the clocks went back would make it easier for families to enjoy it.
Councillor Salma Arif, deputy leader and executive member for economy, said: "Light Night Leeds really shows off our city in the best light each year, bringing thousands of people together to enjoy hugely impressive projections and immersive experiences.
"The event is so important for the city, helping to establish Leeds as a cultural destination while making art accessible to everyone."
