Driver with life-threatening injuries after A5 crash

A driver has taken to hospital with suspected life-threatening injuries after a crash on the A5, which left the road closed for 8 hours.

Police said it happened at about 06:00 BST, at Watling Street, between Weedon and Kilsby, Northamptonshire, with the force and the fire service both in attendance.

It said a white Kia Sportage and a black BMW X5 collided leaving Kia driver injured.

The forced said the road has reopened and appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage, to get in touch.
