Motorcyclist dies in M27 crash

A motorcyclist has died following a crash on the M27.

Hampshire police said the crash involving a white Triumph motorcycle happened shortly before 06:40 BST. The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, died at the scene.

A stretch of the motorway was closed eastbound between Whiteley at junction 9 and junction 12 for Portsmouth. It was initially closed from junction 11 at Fareham. The westbound carriageway remained open.

Shortly after 20:40 BST police said the route had fully reopened.

Police are urging witnesses and any drivers with dash cam footage to get in touch.
