Man arrested on suspicion of murder bailed
BBCA man arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman has been released.
He was arrested after a woman in her 60s was discovered following reports of a "sudden death" at Whinlatter Way, Carlisle, on Sunday at about 23:20 BST.
Cumbria Police said the man, who is also in his 60s, had now been released on bail and have asked the public to "refrain from speculation whilst the investigation is ongoing".
A spokesperson said: "Detectives are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the woman's death and enquiries remain ongoing."
They added officers would remain in the area over the coming days and resident would see an increased police presence.
