Man seriously injured in town centre stabbing
BBCA man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a reported stabbing in Grimsby, police said.
Humberside Police said a 37-year-old man was found with a suspected stab wound after officers were called to Lord Street at about 09:00 BST.
It followed reports of three men with baseball bats being involved in an incident with a fourth man.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray.
Det Insp Charmian Bakersmith said it was believed all four people involved were known to each other.
"We understand incidents of this nature will cause concern amongst the local community and would like to reassure residents that enquiries are ongoing," she said.
Officers said a knife and a baseball bat had been recovered from the area, and had been seized as part of the investigation, with a cordon in place on Lime Street, Haycroft Avenue and Lord Street.
Anyone who witnessed the altercation, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage, is being asked to contact police.
