A 16-year-old boy has died after a crash involving two vans in Leicester.

Leicestershire Police said Tyler Barrett, from Fleckney in the county, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the force was called to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and two vans on Tuesday.

Barrett died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash - at the junction of Welford Road and Baldwin Road - on Thursday, the force confirmed.

It added no arrests had been made and an investigation into the crash was continuing.

Police added Barrett was a "strong believer in organ donation", and his family had carried out his wishes that his organs be used to save the lives of others.

Officers said they were continuing to urge anyone who witnessed the crash or motorists with dashcam footage to contact the force.
