Man walking dog seriously hurt in Elgin hit-and-run

Police have appealed for information after a man was left with serious injuries in a hit-and-run incident in Elgin.

He was struck by a vehicle as he walked his dog across the A96 on the town's eastern outskirts at about 10:20 on Wednesday 5 August.

The man was taken to hospital where it was discovered he had two leg fractures. The dog was not hurt.

Police said the driver involved had failed to stop and officers have appealed for witnesses, including anyone with dashcam footage, to get in touch.
