Motorcyclist killed in collision with car
GoogleA motorcyclist has died in a collision with a car in North Yorkshire.
The crash happened on the A171 near Helwath Beck, between Whitby and Scarborough, shortly after 18:00 BST on 15 September and involved a black Volvo XC40 and a black and white Triumph Daytona motorcycle.
North Yorkshire Police said the biker, a man in his 30s from Whitby, died at the scene, while the Volvo driver, a woman in her 40s, suffered minor injuries, which did not require hospital treatment.
Police said the woman had been interviewed under caution and officers were now appealing for witnesses and relevant dashcam footage.
According to the force, both vehicles had been travelling in the same direction towards Scarborough at the time of the collision.
A road closure was in place until 02:00 BST the following day.
Officers thanked the members of the public who stopped at the scene to help.
