A fatal accident inquiry (FAI) is due to take place following the death of a farmer in a quad bike accident in Perthshire.

Charles Thomas Ennion, 76, a farmer at Little Glenshee Farm, died at Head of Moulin farm in Logiealmond on 10 August, 2024.

A preliminary hearing for the FAI will take place on 18 May at Perth Sheriff Court.

The Crown Office said the inquiry is mandatory as the farmer's death happened during his employment.

Procurator fiscal Andy Shanks said: "The lodging of the first notice enables FAI proceedings to commence under the direction of the Sheriff.

"Mr Ennion's family will continue to be kept informed of significant developments as court proceedings progress."

FAIs do not seek to attribute blame to any individual, but aim to establish how the death happened and what precautions may be put in place to prevent similar fatalities.
