A road is to close for a week to allow for potholes and carriageway patching.

Cumberland Council said the B5299 would shut between Brow Nelson and Holly Lodge, near Dalston, south of Carlisle, from Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 16:00 GMT.

On-street parking will be unavailable and vehicle access to and from houses within the area may not be feasible when the patching works begin, with council staff stating residents would be supported where possible.

A signed diversion route will be in place with warnings of potential delays, the authority said.
