Cecil Dillon, 60, has been charged with murder, police said

A man has been charged with murder after a body was found following a tip-off to police.

The victim, in his 40s, was found on South Road, Smethwick, on Thursday after a call from a member of the public, West Midlands Police said.

Cecil Dillon, 60, is due to appear before magistrates in Wolverhampton later, the force said.

The family of the man have been told of his death, "and our thoughts are with them," added a police spokesperson.

The spokesperson appealed for anyone with information or CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage from the area to get in touch with them.
