Saturday train line closures for maintenance work
Getty ImagesThe train lines between Woking in Surrey and Basingstoke in Hampshire are set to be closed all of Saturday for maintenance work.
South Western Railway (SWR) says as part of its London Waterloo to Weymouth service, an hourly train will be diverted between Woking and Southampton Central while calling additionally at Guildford, Havant and Fareham.
An hourly service will also start from Basingstoke, SWR says.
Southampton supporters are being urged to avoid travelling by train to their FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley due to a reduced number of direct trains.
As part of the disruption, services from Waterloo to Portsmouth, via Eastleigh, and from Waterloo to Exeter St Davids will start from Basingstoke.
Stopping services from Waterloo to Salisbury will also start from Reading, and stopping services from Waterloo to Basingstoke will not run.
However, additional services will run between Waterloo and Woking, and buses will run non-stop between Woking and Basingstoke, and between the towns via Farnborough.
Waterloo to Alton services will also depart London earlier and call additionally at Walton-on-Thames and Weybridge.
