Glasgow Central station services resume after flooding
ScotrailServices at Scotland's busiest train station have returned to normal after part of the station was flooded earlier.
A burst water pipe on Argyle Street prevented trains stopping at the station's low-level platforms. This affected services which connect stations west of Glasgow such as Balloch and Milngavie to Motherwell and Cumbernauld.
However water levels had reached a safe level by 11:00, enabling trains to stop at the station again.
It is the second time this year services have been halted at the station this year because of flooding, following an incident in February.
In March, Central was forced to close for days after a fire on Union Street. The main entrance to the building remains shut due to ongoing demolition work nearby.
The services affected were able to keep running during the disruption, with passengers advised to get off at either Anderston or Argyle Street, or switch to the Glasgow Queen Street line.
Scotrail posted on social media: "There is flooding at Glasgow Central Low Level station due to a burst water pipe. Trains aren't stopping there until further notice - please use Argyle Street station instead.
"Services at Glasgow Central (High Level) are running as normal."
A later post then read: "Water levels are now at a safe level at Glasgow Central Low Level to allow us to stop trains at the station again. Thank you for your understanding."
