Girl, 12, fighting for life after hit and run

A 12-year-old girl is fighting for life after being hit by an e-bike, with the rider then fleeing the scene, police confirmed.

It happened at about 14:40 BST in Long Lane in the Orford area of Warrington on Wednesday 18 June, said Cheshire Police.

Det Sgt Russ Sime said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch with us."

He added: "This occurred at a busy time of day when there would have been a lot of traffic and footfall in the area."

The officer also asked anyone with any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact the force.
