A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was fatally stabbed in Redditch.

Police were called to Martley Close shortly after 08:30 BST on Tuesday, where a 41-year-old man was found with a life-threatening injury.

He was taken to hospital by paramedics but died shortly after arriving.

West Mercia Police said the suspect, who is from Redditch, was being held in custody after his arrest.

Det Ch Insp Gareth Lougher, from the force's major investigations unit, said: "We don't underestimate the concern an incident of this nature will raise within the community, and we are grateful for the support following our recent appeal for information.

"We continue to express our condolences to the family of the man who sadly lost his life."
