Jeremy Clarkson farmers' choir to go on nationwide tour

Jeremy Clarkson's Hawkstone Farmers' Choir - which won this year's Britain's Got Talent (BGT) - has announced a nationwide tour.

The choir was named winner of the ITV talent show in May - describing TV presenter Clarkson as "their biggest cheerleader".

The choir, which includes farmers from the West Country such as Andy Fussell, an arable farmer in Rode, near Frome, Somerset, will perform at venues across the UK in the spring, including the Bath Forum on 31 March 2027.

Fussell, who sings bass, said the group would continue to support five mental health charities after donating £50,000 of their BGT prize money, as "everyone in the choir has lost someone they know to suicide".

Chris Slatter, a farmer from Mickleton, in Gloucetershire, said the response following the group's win at the BGT final on 30 May had been "a great feeling".

"It was like being thrust into a big, extended family. There's a feeling that farmers are a little bit unloved in England, but there was so much love and support for the choir and the public seemed to want us to win," he told BBC Gloucestershire.

He said the tour would require plenty of planning, as spring is the busiest time of year for farmers.

"March is our main period of lambing, so I guess me, along with half the others, are going to be searching and frantically running around trying to find cover," he said.

Fussell, 60, said it had been a whirlwind journey from celebrating their victory to planning an 18-venue tour.

"Obviously, we're extremely excited," he told BBC Somerset.

"We have had a massive response already with regards to people wanting to book into various locations because we farm all over the country, not just from one area," he said.

Earlier this month, the choir donated £50,000 of its £250,000 Britain's Got Talent prize money to five charities supporting farming, mental health, and rural communities.

Fussell said the choir wanted to continue highlighting the pressures farmers were under and about what singing together has meant to them.

"Luckily, I have a foreman and a couple of sons, which works perfectly for me because now it's time for them to come through and take on the business," he added.

The live show - with original music alongside the emotionally charged arrangements that have become their trademark - includes a performance at The London Palladium.

As the 2026 winner of BGT, the choir has also earned the traditional prize of performing at the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 20 November and is due to release their debut album next month.
