Singer, 63, goes viral performing Freed From Desire
BBCA singer who has been performing in pubs and clubs for 30 years has found fame online after a video of her singing Freed From Desire went viral.
Sheila Diamond, 63, said she "could not believe it" when she received a message from a friend to say a video of her singing at East Ward Conservative Club in Chorley, Lancashire, had more than 430,000 likes on Instagram.
"My phone just started going absolutely bonkers and I'm like 'what's going on here'?" said Sheila, from Bolton, Greater Manchester.
"It's just nuts. It's not all sunk in yet."
Sheila - who is known by many as Little Miss Dynamite - said it was towards the end of the night when she decided it was time to really get the party started.
"They're all 70, 80 to 90-year-olds so I just went 'alright you lot, do you fancy having a rave?'
"Of course they did. They're all a bit nuts in there. They love it.
"So they went, 'yeah go on then'. I decided to do Freed From Desire.
"They all get up and they're all rocking.
"We had 90-year-olds sat on their seats giving it this – they loved it."
Singing sensation
Sheila is no stranger to performing and often entertains crowds at multiple shows a week.
But the viral clip caught the attention of promoters at the pop festival Mighty Hoopla, who have booked her to perform in May.
She is also set to dazzle at Pride events across the country including in Manchester, Leeds and Blackpool.
Sheila, whose married name is Coleman, sings under her maiden name.
"When I started singing, my husband Stephen he went 'well, you might as well go back to your maiden name because it sounds better than Coleman'," she said.
Now after finding fame online, what does the future hold for the singer?
"I'll just carry on doing what I love doing and what I love doing is entertaining and singing," she said.
"So I'll just carry on doing that."
