Funeral director's shut after car crashes into wall
Hamraz DhadraA funeral director's has been forced to temporarily close one of its branches after a car crashed into the side of its old stone building.
Averil Phillips & Family said it had to shut its St Osyths Lane office in Oundle, Northamptonshire, because of the structural damage.
The grey BMW 1 Series collided with the wall at about 00:30 BST on Sunday and police said no arrests had been made.
Police said no-one in the car was seriously injured and the company said no-one was in the building at the time.
The funeral director's said its teams in Corby and Kettering remained open and could support families in Oundle.
Averil Phillips & FamilyOn its Facebook page, the company wrote: "A vehicle made an unscheduled visit to our wall.
"We are glad the driver was attended to, and we can assure the community that there was no breakout, no ram-raid, and parking restrictions remain firmly in place."
It was waiting for a full survey to be carried out and "will reopen as soon as it's safe to do so".
The firm said that the tenants, who lived in a flat above the offices, were away and had moved out for the time being.
Hamraz Dhadra, who was on his way home at about 02:00 after finishing work at the town's Onkar Indian Restaurant, said: "I was shocked, I could not believe the damage."
