Community pool shut for fortnight for repair work

A community pool is to close for two weeks while it undergoes maintenance works.

Ulverston Leisure Centre said its 25m (82ft) pool would shut for a fortnight from Monday until 24 August to allow for repairs to a leak under the pool.

Operator GLL said customers could use the facilities at Kendal, with alternative locations including Dalton Leisure Centre or Barrow Leisure Centre.

The centre apologised for the inconvenience, adding it would reopen, one week before most school pupils return for the autumn term.
