One carriageway of the A38 in Derby was closed after a crash involving a car and a motorbike.

Derbyshire Police said on Sunday afternoon that the dual carriageway was shut westbound from the junction for Heatherton to Toyota Island.

At 19:50 BST, the force confirmed it had reopened, but it has not revealed the extent of any casualties.

Drivers were earlier asked to avoid the area if they could but plan extra time for journeys if they needed to head that way.
