A man has been charged with the murder of a 51-year-old woman described by family as a "beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and cousin".

Gosia Wiktor was found seriously injured at a property on Foster Square in the Belle Isle area of Leeds on Thursday morning and died at the scene.

Jack Johns, 52, of School Street in Tingley, was arrested on Monday and later charged with murder, West Yorkshire Police said.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court later.

In a tribute issued through police, the victim's relatives said she was "the heart of our family" and "a source of warmth, love, and joy".
