Tribute paid to grandfather killed in crash

The family of a grandfather who died in a crash in Leicestershire have described him as a "larger than life character" who showed "endless generosity".

Leicestershire Police said a grey Volkswagen ID3 Life car and a Ford Transit van towing a trailer crashed in Lindridge Lane, Desford, at about 16:15 BST on 16 July.

Terry Gray, 56, who was driving the Volkswagen, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.

In a statement issued by police, Gray's family said: "Terry was a much-loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.

"He was respected by all who knew him and was a talented and successful public sector director.

"His death has left an enormous hole in our lives and those who knew him. He was a larger than life character with a huge heart and showed endless generosity."
