Shops evacuated after potential gas leak reports
Bradford-on-Avon Town CouncilShops were evacuated and multiple roads were closed earlier after an electrical fault.
Police and fire teams were called to Silver Street in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, at 11:02 BST to reports of a suspected gas leak.
People were urged to avoid the area as Town Bridge, Market Street, Silver Street and St Margaret's Street were cordoned off.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "It is believed the incident was caused by an electrical fault, and the area was made safe. All road closures were lifted at around 14:00 BST."
Earlier, a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were called to Silver Street, Bradford on Avon to reports of a potential gas leak."
They said two crews from Trowbridge and Melksham attended alongside a gas engineer to resolve the issue.
