Rescue at York Minster after tower medical incident
BBC/Emily JohnsonA visitor has been rescued from the central tower at York Minster following a medical incident.
Several ambulances and fire engines were parked at Minster Yard, with an air ambulance also in the area.
After receiving medical attention, the fire service said the patient was extricated from the Minster using an aerial ladder platform.
A spokesperson for York Minster confirmed the visitor had been safely brought to the ground and taken to Leeds General Infirmary in a stable condition.

Visitors can still access the Minster as usual.
