Bus operator takes on routes lost in CT4N collapse

Further bus routes which stopped when an operator went into administration are to be brought back into service.

CT4N stopped running its services, which ran on more than 20 routes through Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, on 14 August, stating rising operating costs and financial pressures had made the business no longer viable.

Notts and Derby Buses will take on the L2 from Nottingham to Assarts Farm, L4 through Nottingham city centre, Beechdale and Strelley, and the L14 from Nottingham to Bulwell from Tuesday.

The operator will also take over the Derbyshire DRT service for Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire, with passengers required to use a new booking app.

The East Midlands Mayor's office added the 300 from Lowdham to Newark via Southwell, and the Derbyshire Connect Eastern area shopping bus were "in the process of being procured".

The routes being revived by Notts and Derby Buses will join others already brought back since CT4N's collapse.

The 18/18a/18b/18x services between Stapleford and Nottingham have been taken on by Nottingham City Transport, while Kinchbus has started to run the 66 between Sutton Bonington and Loughborough.

Littles Travel is now operating the 29 service between Long Eaton and Sandiacre, the 510 serving Beeston, Toton, Attenborough and Stapleford, and the 511 circular Stapleford service.
