A man has pleaded not guilty to murder over a stabbing in Wolverhampton city centre.

Brad Thomas, aged 27, died after being found with a chest injury at a car park on Clarence Street on 5 July.

Joseph Wills Jr, aged 37, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday where in addition to denying murder he pleaded not guilty to possession of a knife.

His father, 65-year-old Joseph Wills Sr, pleaded not guilty to assisting an offender. A trial has been scheduled for 1 February.

In a tribute previously released via West Midlands Police, Thomas's family said: "Brad was a loving son, father and brother and was one of a kind.

"He will be missed by all his friends and family, our boy."
