Yes, it's almost time.

Norwich City

Norwich City boss Philippe Clement told BBC Radio Norfolk after their emphatic 4-1 win against Burnley:

"It's really important to give our fans entertaining football and good football and results of course.

"If you start the game in that way, on the front foot and scoring two goals really fast, it helps.

"I said before the game I had a feeling like before the home game against Coventry last season where we got a good result against a good team, a strong team. It's another step forward.

"Andre is someone with a lot of potential otherwise we wouldn't have made the efforts that the club made to get him in."

Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray told BBC Radio Lancashire:

“I think there's lots of positives today. We played against a good team - I thought we managed them pretty well, to be honest - and it was a really tight game. We had spells where we were pretty dominant, and they had moments too.

“I've said to them in the dressing room: ‘Lots and lots of positives today’. If we can maintain the performance from the first 60 minutes for 90, we'll be fine.

“It's a very quiet, disappointed dressing room, and yet I think if they stick together, there's enough spirit, togetherness and camaraderie to be competitive this season.

“I'm still here after a defeat, and it's hard to find words other than that I felt pretty proud of how they performed for the vast majority of the game.

“Let's take the positives — I've said that to them in the dressing room. We were really good for a lot of that game.”

Swansea City

Swansea City head coach Vitor Matos told BBC Radio Wales:

"We started the game really well. We scored early, and it gave us the tranquility to stay in the game and be competitive.

"Then we had moments where Derby pushed us back, and we needed to stay compact and concentrated in the box.

"We coped with that, scored the second and that gave us the comfort to control the game how we like to do it.

"In the second half, we expected a really strong start from Derby, which is what happened. After that period, we created chances. I'm really pleased."

Stoke City

Stoke City boss Mark Robins told BBC Radio Stoke:

"We started really well, scored a 'worldie' and got our noses in front. A brilliant goal. And then we contrived to shoot ourselves in the foot.

"We then had some really decent play, from the goalkeeper's close kick all the way to Gallagher and we got runners off him into the box. We started to gather momentum but then we decided to do something different.

"Instead of doing those things that got us success, we played it to Eric Bocat, who tried to take on a man and lost the ball in a really dangerous area and they had the weight of numbers to score.

"That changed the whole momentum because we gave them a second one and they hadn't had to work for it. We've been the authors of our own downfall for the second week running."

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves head coach Cesar Peixoto told BBC Radio WM:

"We conceded a goal but the reaction was very important for us. We showed personality and character to fight.

"We scored four goals and could have scored more. It's important that Rodrigo [Gomes] has the confidence to play after playing a lot in pre-season.

"Rodrigo is an important player because he works hard for the team, not only in his offensive game but also in his defensive organisation, helping the right-back a lot.

"Adam Armstrong can play there as well but I need Raul Jimenez to stay 100% fit so I need Adam to manage his game time, not only the starting XI."

Derby County

Derby County head coach John Eustace told BBC Radio Derby:

"It's a disappointing afternoon, and I take full responsibility for the performance. I pick the team, I train the players, and it's probably been coming.

"We've been up and down over pre-season. We've struggled and are lacking a bit of confidence.

"I think we started both halves well. We conceded early after a good start and because we are lacking confidence, I think it affected the group a little bit.

"To concede just before half-time is difficult to take. We started the second half well, and maybe if we scored it would have been different."

Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough boss Kim Hellberg told BBC Radio Tees:

"I'm very happy. The second half was brilliant from us. And what a big win against a team that hadn't lost."

On what he said to his players at half-time: "Things that I cannot say on radio because of the language - I cannot swear!

"We talked about things. We weren't intense enough and structurally not good enough, and that's why the first half was not as good as we wanted.

"Then the second half was totally different. We could have scored six in that second half - it was chance after chance.

"We did a brilliant second half and were running over them. That's very strong from the boys."

• Lincoln City recorded their first victory in the second tier of English football since April 1961 at home to Leyton Orient (2-0), and their first away win at the level since December 1960 at Southampton (3-2).
• Charlton Athletic are the only team to win nine points from their first three games in the Football League this season – the Addicks are the third team since 2004-05 to be the sole side to have a 100%-win record through three matches after Leyton Orient in 2005-06 (4th tier) and Bolton Wanderers in 2016-17 (3rd tier).
• Norwich City's Mohamed Touré scored his 10th and 11th goals on his 14th Championship appearance today; only Ivan Toney (10 apps), Jason Roberts, Diomansy Kamara, Marek Saganowski and Ross Stewart (all 13 apps) have hit double figures in fewer outings in the competition.
• Stoke City's Mark Robins took charge of his 749th Football League match today (excluding playoffs), the outright third most of any manager across the Championship, League One and League Two since 2004-05, behind only Nigel Clough (759) and Phil Parkinson (754 - John Coleman - 748).
• With a brace against West Brom, Will Lankshear became the first Middlesbrough player to score more than once on both of their first two home league appearances for the club this century.
• Sheffield United led Cardiff 2-1 after six minutes and 53 seconds, the second earliest that a team has fallen 1-0 down but then gone ahead in Championship history, after Leeds against Middlesbrough in December 2023 (6 minutes, 10 seconds).
• Swansea City’s 3-0 victory at Derby County was their biggest on the road in the league since a 4-0 success over Huddersfield Town in April 2024. Their xG total of 3.35 in today’s match was their largest away from home in the league since September 2020 vs Wycombe Wanderers (3.41).

West Ham's wait for a first league win of the season goes on and it could have been worse for them too, as Watford should really have added to Amin Nabizada's fine opener before good pressure from Valentin Castellanos forced an own goal to level things up.

West Ham did get a bit better after the break, but it's still not quite clicking for Nuno Espirito Santo.

As for Watford, five points from games against three well fancied sides represents a promising start for new boss Alessio Dionisi.

That result shows a lot of character from Watford and it epitomised what this team has got and Alessio Dionisi has got that out of them.

Swansea next who are in form, but this is an honest group and they'll be ready to go again.

How different can two halves be?

A chaotic first half. Three goals in 10 minutes and swinging like a pendulum. Utterly breathless viewing.

The second half saw a much improved defensive display from both sides. Cardiff edging the attacking pressure but with no reward. Less entertaining for the neutral but probably less nerve-inducing for the two dugouts.

Both sides continue to wait for a first league win of the new season. Three points from their opening three games.

Nicky Hayen will look at this in training and say that you cannot defend like that. You have to be effective and they weren't.

Norwich didn't have to work for their goals and they will have known that.

For the manager now, he'll have to look at who is going to play. The players have to look at themselves today because no one was more than a five out of 10.

If I was in the changing room now, especially the senior players, I'd be saying you cannot play like that.

There was not much in the second half from West Ham, it seemed the game lost its spark. In all honestly it just seemed like West Ham didn't want anything from this game.

It just didn't click. It was just a poor end to the game.

It just seemed like whenever the ball was at Jarrod Bowen's feet, he seemed like the only one who wanted something to happen. There was just no quality to see anything happening in the game.

There was no cutting-edge football to show that anything will happen this season.

The longer the season goes on and to find that win, the harder it's going to be for Nuno [Espirito Santo].

Charlton are the only side to come out all three opening Championship matches with a 100% record and get to top the table.

Southampton's win takes them off the bottom of the table and, even better, into a positive points tally following their four point deduction to start the season.

Stoke City and Preston struggle without any points on the board though and are joined in the bottom three by a Burnley side finding it hard to readjust to the Championship.

Wolves' unbeaten start puts them in second, with Swansea and QPR also flying high.

Meanwhile, Derby and West Ham are still searching for that first win.
