National League leaders Boreham Wood came from behind to beat Carlisle with two late goals at Meadow Park.

Carlisle, looking to build on Monday's 4-2 win over Scunthorpe, took the lead on the hour when Stephen Wearne drilled a low shot into the bottom right corner.

Boreham Wood, having won four and drawn one of their opening five games, equalised when Jay Bird, who had just been sent on for his debut following a short-term loan switch from Salford, glanced in a deft header.

The home side then secured all three points with nine minutes left when Zak Brunt's corner flew in past Carlisle keeper Adam Desbois, with defender Jack Ellis appearing to get the last touch at the near post for an own goal.
