Adam Murray celebrated the first win of his Barrow tenure at the sixth time of asking after they downed Sutton 3-0 at home.

Three defeats during his first five matches was a far from ideal start for ex-Kidderminster boss Murray, but he was able to finally toast a maiden three points in charge of the Cumbria club on Saturday.

Barrow captain MJ Williams got the ball rolling after 18 minutes before Isaac Marriott added a second for the hosts in the 78th minute and Ben Whitfield sealed the win late on.

A set-piece helped Barrow break the deadlock at Holker Street when Williams poked home at the back post after a corner.

It remained 1-0 until half-time but Marriott settled any nerves with 12 minutes left when he rifled in before Whitfield made it 3-0 in the seventh minute of added time to help get Murray's reign up and running.
