Captain Kevin Nisbet and debutant Mitchy Ntelo booked Aberdeen's place in the League Cup quarter-finals and exacted revenge on top-flight rivals Dundee for league defeat last weekend.
Nisbet's close-range finish, after efforts by Chris Cadden and Toyosi Olusanya had been repelled, and Ntelo's superb shot on the turn put the hosts in control early in the second half.
And Nisbet struck again after Ntelo dummied Tony Yogane's low cross as the Dons followed a listless 2-0 away Scottish Premiership loss to the same opponents with an emphatic cup victory.
Dundee's disappointment was compounded by a serious-looking injury to captain Simon Murray in the first half. The forward, 34, left the field on a stretcher after landing awkwardly and clutching his left knee.
Afeez Aremu, twice, and Olusanya tested Dundee goalkeeper Owen Goodman, with Olusanya also denied by the goalkeeper after going clean through in the first half.
At the other end, Murray found himself in a similar position but could not get the ball under control as Marius Muller collected, with the keeper later blocking a Joe Bevan effort.
Aberdeen started the second half brightly and never looked back, with substitute Stuart Armstrong striking against the post late on. They will discover their last-eight opponents when the draw is made on Sunday.
Ryan Finnigan tested Muller and Ethan Hamilton lifted a shot over as the Dark Blues sought consolation.
