An exasperated Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "It was a very similar type of game to last weekend at Tynecastle [another 4-0 defeat]. I don't think the scoreline is a fair reflection of our performance at all.
"The opening 15 minutes or so was very good as far as we’re concerned. The press was good at the top end of the pitch.
"We’re disappointed with how we defend the set piece [for first goal]. The delivery is excellent.
"The second goal is the one that really frustrates me, to be honest. "Don’t get me wrong, I’m disappointed in the fact that two Celtic players can run into our box unopposed, but I thought the whole point of VAR was to stop those type of incidents happening.
"There is no doubt about it, the ball strikes off the Celtic attacker’s hand and lands perfectly for his team-mate to go and tap it into the net.
"I know it wasn’t the guy who handballed it who put it into the net, but surely a bit of common sense needs to prevail there. The handball directly impacts on the goal."

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill is happy to be in the next round of the cup but not entirely satisfied despite the margin of victory.
"I thought Dundee United were in the game, they hit the post [twice] before we scored a goal," he tells BBC Scotland.
"Things like that can change the picture. Overall, I was pleased with a lot of the stuff they produced but there were moments where we were really casual.
"It's a good performance for us considering the last time we were here.
"We have two very difficult matches coming up now in terms of trying to get into the Champions League, the prestige, the finance, everything that goes along with it.
"We will try and be as ready as we possibly can. We are trying to get there, these are big, big games.
"It would be lovely to have had maybe another three games played before then, but it’s not the case. We’re ready for it, we’ll have to be.
"If the support is anything like what they gave in the split last season, it will be extraordinary."

Celtic's next mission is the first leg of their Champions League play-off at home to LASK.
The team from Linz are currently top of the Austrian Bundesliga with three wins from three.
On Friday, they beat SV Ried 4-1, so they are in good form and will have had a bit more rest.
Who stops Celtic domesticaly this season? Already look like a team on a mission. Europe midweek will be a sterner test but, after smart signings, hopefully this club can once again scale the heights in the greatest European stage.

Utterly predictable. The financial gulf between Celtic and everyone else will simply mean they'll canter to every trophy lift this season leaving the also-rans to fight for the scraps from their table.

For United, it's two successive 4-0 defeats.
Manager Jim Goodwin will be upset by aspects of his team's defensive work but the scoreline is definitely a harsh one on the balance of play.
The home side hit the woodwork on five occasions, had more shots than Celtic and earned more corners.
They started both halves strongly but were undone by clinical opponents.

Sebastian Tounekti's goal - Celtic's third - effectively ended the tie
Celtic's strong start to the season continued as they swept past Dundee United to book a place in the League Cup quarter-finals.
First-half goals from Auston Trusty and Camilo Duran put the visitors in control, Sebastian Tounekti scored from a counter-attack to end the tie as a contest, and Benjamin Nygren added a fabulous fourth as Celtic eased into the next round.
United struck the woodwork five times but could not find a way through and will be left to rue both their profligacy and defensive slackness.
Martin O'Neill returned to the Celtic dugout after missing last weekend's Scottish Premiership victory over Kilmarnock following a brief hospital stay.
His side enjoyed most of the ball early on at Tannadice but survived a double scare when Julius Eskesen, then Emmanuel Agyei, saw efforts come back off the same post as United threatened an opener.
The first goal instead came at the other end as Trusty met Benjamin Nygren's corner with a lovely glancing header that beat Jack Walton.
With United still reeling, Celtic struck again two minutes later.
Neat build-up play allowed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to break into the box and square for Kasper Hogh. He could not supply the finish, but Duran was on hand to prod home from close range.
United wanted the goal ruled out for a handball from Hogh, but a VAR check found it was not deliberate and the goal stood.
United had a penalty appeal for a handball against Oxlade-Chamberlain waved away, then they struck the woodwork for a third time early in the second half when a rocket from Zac Sapsford crashed off the crossbar.
Celtic effectively ended the contest, though, when they broke quickly and Tounekti cut inside Joshua Rawlins and tucked a neat finish past Walton.
Bert Esselink's powerful header looked set to pull one back, but the curse of the crossbar struck yet again.
Mika Baur came off the bench for his Celtic debut and the German midfielder was involved as the ball was worked to Nygren, who rifled a wonderful strike into the top corner as Celtic marched into the last eight.

After a tumultuous campaign last season and a summer of uncertainty in the transfer market, the pieces look now to be falling into place for this Celtic in a fashion that is ominous for the rest of Scottish football.
They gave up some chances, but there was always the sense that the champions just had too many threats for United to contain.
The physicality, movement and work-rate of Hogh, allied to the pressing and pace of Duran, caused all sorts of problems for the home defence.
Tounekti's final product can still often frustrate, but he was a constant menace and took his goal well. Despite the significant loss of Daizen Maeda in the summer, the Celtic forward line is looking strong.
Of course, the true test will come against LASK in Champions League qualifying on Wednesday, but with Baur and Haissem Hassan getting their debuts at Tannadice, O'Neill got what he wanted in their final match before bouncing into Europe.
