Wow. What a day!

Goals galore and some brilliant contests.

Relief for Leicester and their boss Russell Martin after they hung on to beat Stockport 4-3 in a roller coaster contest, and they face struggling Barnsley next.

Also coming up in the next round of fixtures, Wednesday welcome a stung Stockport side, Wycombe visit Wigan and there's a bottom four clash between Peterborough and basement club Doncaster Rovers.

Before all that, join us Thursday as AFC Wimbledon push for a place in the top six against an MK Dons side hoping to keep themselves out of the relegation zone by the end of the weekend.

Wigan Athletics' draw with top dog Sheffield Wednesday is enough to see them off the bottom spot and push Doncaster Rovers to the end of the pack.

Wycombe's earlier win means they rise out of danger, while Bradford City, Cambridge United, Oxford United and Plymouth all benefit from their respective wins.

Stockport's dramatic loss to Leicester sees them drop out of the play-off places, while Burton sink all the way down to 11th from sixth.

Huddersfield don't do enough in their game against 10-man Mansfield to snatch the apex from the Owls, but they do hold onto their place in the automatic promotion spots.

Barnet have gone to the top of League Two following their come from behind victory against 10-man Accrington Stanley.

York's thumping win at home against Swindon Town, who were also reduced to 10 men, sees the newly promoted Minstermen in the promotion places tonight.

Rochdale's goalless draw at Walsall sees them slide to the foot of the table and they are joined in the bottom two by Crawley who lost at lunchtime to Cheltenham.

That is because Port Vale picked up their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory at home to Exeter City

The first goal in any game is really important. Swindon started the game quite well and looked like they could force York into some mistakes that could create chances.

From the first goal, York took control of the game and deservedly came out winners. In the two games I've seen, Swindon are giving away far too many chances.

I do feel that away from home, you need a different sort of character, and Swindon look like they're lacking that.

Newport's home form is going to be really important. There were a lot of positives to take from this game, but it's about putting a 90-minute performance together.

They tailed off in the second half. Fleetwood got the goal back, and it could have gone either way after that.

Sheffield Wednesday were unable to extend their lead at the top of the table after they were held to a goalless draw at home by Wigan but do remain at the summit.

That is because Huddersfield were held to a goalless draw by Mansfield while Bradford's win at lunchtime sees them go third in an all Yorkshire top three.

Newly-promoted Cambridge United's terrific come from behind win against Reading sees them up to fourth as they continue to upset the applecart while Oxford and Plymouth now make up the top-six after their respective 3-0 wins at home today.

Leicester are up to 13th after their dramatic 4-3 victory at Stockport County going above Reading and Leyton Orient who lost to managerless Wycombe 3-2 at lunchtime.

The Chairboys climb out of the relegation zone, up to 19th, and Wigan's point at Hillsborough sees them go above Doncaster who drop to the foot of the table after a 1-0 defeat today at Wimbledon.

After (former) league leaders Bristol Rovers were beaten 2-0 at Grimsby and Cheltenham made a statement with a win over Crawley, York followed at 3pm with a 4-0 win over 10-man Swindon to go third.

Barnet's second-half turnaround at Accrington has sent them top after Rovers' earlier slip up.

What a game at Rotherham, too. After twists and turns, they shared six goals and the points with Salford.

Shrewsbury beat Northampton 2-0, while Port Vale got the only goal against Exeter. They are now just outside the bottom two.

It's been a disappointing start to the season for Barnsley.

They made three changes at half-time and had a good opening few minutes, but the first breakaway for Plymouth saw them find the top corner. There wasn't really much to play for from there.

The gaffer has had them all down in a huddle and looks very irate. He says it's a work in progress, but after back-to-back results like that, it's difficult. There's a lot of work to do.

The quality of all three goals today - you have to see them when you get the chance to.

Words are hard to describe that match because it was almost perfection. It could have been five, six or seven.

Swindon are a decent side but that was as good a performance from a team as you'll see, and the goals were just outstanding.

Quite a dazzling game of football. That the Foxes just about come on top of. They were 4-1 up in 52 minutes but by 61 it was 4-3.

The Foxes held on for the final half an hour so to win this game to ease the pressure.

Russell Martin will no doubt be delighted with the three points. You have to wonder if a win like this the turning point for his side might just be.

10-man Mansfield hold on for a goalless draw against Huddersfield.

The Stags lost Owen Dodgson after just one minute of being on the pitch to make for a difficult second half but Huddersfield couldn't make the most of their chances to punish.

Full-time and its an excellent point on the road for Wigan Athletic which gets the Latics off the bottom of the table as things stand.

Wednesday, meanwhile, remain top of League One but will see today as a missed opportunity to pull clear of the chasing pack just below them.

Oh what a chance to win it for Sheffield Wednesday!

SEVEN minutes into injury time, Harry Gray, just on to the field, strikes just over the bar from inside the box.

That was the chance and that should be that.

A huge statement from York and Scott Lindsey, who started this season very unpopular with the fans after replacing Stuart Maynard.

Alex Newby (2), Ollie Banks and Ollie Pearce with the goals. Could York be in the race for successive promotions?

Three goals and three points for Plymouth Argyle against a struggling Barnsley side.

Leicester fend off an onslaught from Stockport County to take a win in a seven goal thriller at Edgeley Park.

Emil Riis and debutant John Lundstram scored within four minutes to put Leicester 4-1 ahead but Stockport replied with unrelenting pressure.

A free-kick from Ollie Norwood and a smooth strike from Kyle Wootton pulled two back. They then scored twice more but saw both ruled out for offside and despite piling on the attacks, couldn't find an equaliser.

A real nail-biter.

Only THREE minutes added. Leicester are almost there.

Cam Humphreys weaves past not one but two defenders to loose off a shot but it just heads wide. Wasn't much in that for the Huddersfield man.
