Ryan Ledson has made seven appearances for Huddersfield Town this season

Huddersfield Town captain Ryan Ledson has been given a three-match ban by the Football Association for misconduct.

The midfielder was alleged to have used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official around the tunnel area at half-time, and also after the final whistle in his side's 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on 10 October.

Ledson, who was not in the matchday squad for the game, accepted the charge and has also been fined £7,000.

The 29-year-old has made six League One starts for the Terriers this season but has not featured since 12 September because of an elbow injury.

Having recently returned to training he will now miss matches against Wigan Athletic, Bradford City and Luton Town.
