Billy Sharp marked his final home game for Doncaster with a goal to earn his side a share of the spoils and dent Stevenage's play-off aspirations.

Rovers announced in midweek that veteran Sharp will be departing at the end of the season and there was a sense of inevitability as he was introduced as a half-time substitute to a rapturous welcome.

Matt Phillips had fired Stevenage ahead on nine minutes with the play-off hopefuls good value for their lead at the break as they searched for the points to make sure of a top-six finish, with Dan Kemp and Jordan Roberts both close to extending their advantage.

But Doncaster responded well after the break.

Sharp netted the equaliser on 69 minutes when he turned in from close range after excellent work on the left from Hakeeb Adelakun.

Rovers were close to snatching the win when George Broadbent lashed a 20-yard drive off the post.

Stevenage struggled to craft attacking threat in the late stages, meaning their play-off hopes still hang in the balance.
