Eilidh Adams scored from the spot at Meadowbank
Eilidh Adams' second-half penalty delivered victory for Hibernian against Celtic as Joelle Murray beat her former mentor Grant Scott on his first return to Meadowbank in the SWPL.
Scott's first game in charge since making the move along the M8 in December was against the side he just left in the Scottish Cup.
While he headed home with a victory that day, there was no repeat in the first league meeting with the team he won the league with last term.
The decisive moment came eight minutes after the break, with Adams converting from the spot after Hibs forward Rosie Livingstone was fouled in the box.
Murray's side had to dig deep to earn the win - which stretches their unbeaten run to nine games - with goalkeeper Noa Schumacher pulling off a superb save in stoppage-time.
The win moves the reigning champions up to fourth, level on points with Celtic but above them on goal difference.
