Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken tells BBC Scotland: "I was forced with the changes. There's a lot of games, a lot of managing minutes. We had to make two changes at half-time in Benfica.

"Others have to be ready to fill in those positions, even when it's not their favourite position. But they want to make it work.

"When you're not disappointed, it's not a good sign. So, there's been disappointment for sure, especially over those last two goals.

"We have to take the positives and also the negatives. We showed some good things in Aberdeen but in the end, we lost. The result gives extra confidence and that's what we need for our mental state."

For new Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken, games like this one today against Dundee United are where he can truly be judged. Heavy defeats against Sturm Graz and Benfica are painful but the manner of the loss at Pittodrie last weekend will also hurt.

The home fans will be looking for all three points this afternoon but a victory is far from guaranteed.

Jim Goodwin has pulled together another new squad over the summer and there was a lot to like about them in their opening draw at home to Rangers.

Keeping a clean sheet has been an issue for both teams so fingers crossed for goals this afternoon.

John McGlynn has made six changes from their Scottish Premiership opening defeat by St Mirren last week.

Motherwell boss Alfred Johansson has made three changes from the team that started the 1-1 draw against HJK Helsinki in Finland on Thursday night.

Jamie Knight-Lebel makes his first start since joining on loan from Bristol City in the summer, he replaces Jake Girdwood-Reich in defence.

Mikey Booth gets his first senior start while Ibrahim Said returns after missing out midweek. Alex Lowry and Regan Charles-Cook are the pair replaced.

It's just the one change for Jim Goodwin's Dundee United after a solid performance in the opening weekend draw against Rangers.

Australian Daniel Bennie - who is on loan from Queen's Park Rangers and qualifies to play for Scotland - makes a first start, replacing countryman Zac Sapsford in the line-up.

Will Ferry also starts, amid reported interest in the United left-back.

Dylan Tait, the summer signing from Falkirk, continues to wear the armband with Ross Graham named among the subs.

Midfielder Oisin McEntee starts next to Jamie McCart at centre-half, the latter coming in for the suspended Stuart Findlay.

Calvin Miller starts at left-back with Harry Milne missing, which means Blair Spittal takes the armband in midfield. He plays alongside Tom Renaud, who makes a first start after scoring against Benfica midweek.

McCart and Renaud are two of five changes, with Sabah Kerjota, Josh McPake and Amadou Ba-Sy starting. It's also a first start for McPake.

Milne is not even on the bench and neither is Alexandros Kyziridis, who started on Thursday in Lisbon.

It's a really strange set up from Kilmarnock.

Celtic are playing with Camilo Duran high up the pitch, Kasper Hogh high up the pitch, and Yang Hyun-jun high up the pitch, and Kilmarnock are going man-for-man, three-v-three.

They're getting ripped apart.

Celtic assistant Shaun Maloney will have little to complain about so far and his manager, Martin O'Neill, is no doubt enjoying it too from home after a hospital stay this week.
