Elliot: Do you not remember Peter Crouch's volley from 22 yards just outside the right corner of the box for Stoke vs Man City? Thing of beauty.

Matthew: Re: tall lads outside the box: has Peter Crouch for Stoke v Man City completely slipped your mind...?

Newcastle United could have gone under after conceding that early goal.

You might have expected the visitors to given how bereft of confidence they have looked of late to the point where Eddie Howe's side were reluctant to even shoot at times against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

Newcastle have not been shy in front of goal today - having had eight efforts since Eberechi Eze opened the scoring for Arsenal - but they have lacked an edge in the final third.

  5. 'This was exactly what we needed'published at 18:21 BST

    FT: Wolves 0-1 Spurs

    Tottenham Hotspur

After ending Tottenham's run of 14 games without a Premier League clean sheet, Antonin Kinsky told BBC Sport: "We are very happy because this is exactly what we needed.

"The situation is difficult, the game was difficult, Wolves were defending well and we eventually found a way to score.

"We wanted to score a second goal but first and foremost keep the clean sheet which gives us the three points.

"We did it well, I am very happy, everyone is here, including the fans.

"It was a good day for us today."

Asked about Spurs playing under tension after 118 days without a win in the Premier League: "I wouldn’t say tension. Of course it’s a difficult moment in which we don’t want to be.

"We want the pressure but we want it from chasing some trophy, this is where we don’t want to be, for sure, but I would say if there is too much tension the quality goes too low."

On his stoppage-time save from Joao Gomes' free-kick: "It was a good moment for me and us. A good save in a good time and three points for us, this is what we came here for and we take it home."

  6. 'I am proud of Kinsky, he has suffered a lot'published at 18:21 BST

    FT: Wolves 0-1 Spurs

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi on match-winner Joao Palhinha, speaking to BBC Sport: "He is a top player for us. I think the connection between Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma is very high, but it’s important that when Palhinha plays, Or Mathys Tel, or Richarlison, that he plays very well. We need everyone."

On Antonin Kinsky, who made a crucial late save as well as a brave clearance one-on-one: "I am very happy and proud of him. He suffered a lot after the game in the Champions League (when Kinsky was subbed after just 17 minutes after going 3-0 down in the Round of 16 tie at Atletico Madrid). He was crucial for this three points."

On ending Tottenham's winless run after 118 days: "For the mentality it’s important to win this game, 9we) won games in the Champions League, it’s not more easy than the Premier League, but when you don’t win a game for a long time like this it becomes a problem."

On injuries to Dominic Solanke and Xavi Simons which saw both subbed off in pain: "I spoke with the doctor but they don’t understand (the severity of the injuries). They have to see the players on Monday and Tuesday."

Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi says the win over Wolves was important for their mentality, telling BBC Sport: "We were working for a win.

"We played 30-35 mins very well in the first half. We didn’t create many chances but we had control.

"(In the second half) maybe the pressure to win this game, we didn’t play well, but today the three points was very important. We can prepare for the next four games."

De Zerbi insisted Spurs have to keep the ball better than they did in the second half, though praised his players' spirit: "We have to play, we can’t lose our style or lose the order on the pitch - we can’t show the quality of the players if we play like we did in the second half, but in terms of attitude and spirit - great 90 minutes.

"Without the ball we can’t win the game. These players are good enough to win with the ball. We can play much better than the second half."

  8. 'It was a very tight and close match'published at 18:20 BST

    FT: Liverpool 3-1 Crystal Palace

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot, speaking to Sky Sports: "We've played many games this season where we deserved more than we got. It was equal and it could've ended differently. We kept fighting and were able to score another goal.

"A great goal from Florian, work rate, we created our own luck as well. Freddie had an unbelievable game, made a lot of aves. Alex scored his first at Anfield this season, which you can hardly believe. That tells you how much bad luck he has had.

"We need to win our games and that's the main aim. You want to win by as much margin as you can. It wasn't about the goal difference today; it was about getting the game over the line. It was a very tight and close match.

On Salah potentially playing his last game after injury: "My honest answer is yes, the way he came off. It went through his mind because there are only a few weeks to go but we are hoping he plays for us again. You have tests to do and then we have to wait for the prognosis.

On disagreement after Palace goal: "We spoke with Glasner on the pitch. Robbo could make sense with what he said but have you ever seen a player from that position play such a slow ball into the goal? Maybe it's 50-50. The number of times I've seen referees stopping the game for fouls that aren't fouls and referees buy into it. When my player is injured, they don't stop the game. Mac Allister needed five stitches at home to Man Utd. Conor Bradley was being pushed off the pitch."

On fan protest: "In football, there are always disagreements and everyone has the best interests of the club. The owners and the fans do. What is more important to me is that afterwards, we got the support and we did last week against Fulham. Disagreements will always be there as they are now."

    FT: West Ham 2-1 Everton

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo speaking to Match of the Day: "We knew it was going to be tough 'til the end. It was important we keep believing, fighting 'til the last minute. That is something we have in our character and that is positive for us."

On matchwinner Callum Wilson: "Callum is giving us huge moments. We are delighted. Fantastic, what can I say. We have all of the squad available. It [his selection up front] is a good headache to have."

On the remainder of the relegation battle: "It is going to be 'til the end - keep fighting, keep believing. Tough one but we are in our path."

  10. 'It means more than just three points'published at 18:19 BST

    FT: Wolves 0-1 Spurs

    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs goalscorer Joao Palhinha told BBC Sport: "Antonin Kinsky saved us the victory with this last save.

"This team has deserved the three points for such a long time. It’s not been easy. It means a lot, much more than the three points.

"I think the pressure, you cannot control. It’s about mentality. Focus on what we can control, not thinking bad thoughts. Focus on the present.

"We know if we are on the right form in the present we will achieve our goal – to keep Tottenham in the Premier League."
