  2. Mousinho 'delighted' for hat-trick hero Segecicpublished at 18:03 BST

    FT: Stoke 1-3 Portsmouth

    Portsmouth

Portsmouth boss John Mousinho told BBC Radio Solent:

“It was a really impressive performance and a really impressive result considering the circumstances. I know neither side had anything to play for but that can always be tricky.

“On the performance on a whole, I was very pleased with [Segecic] and that’s the thing I like to focus on with players.

“He was a constant threat on the right-hand side and ran in behind very well, and looked after the ball brilliantly, which is something we have been really working on and focusing on with him.

“The first finish, with all that time, I was glad to see it go into the back of the net and it was a poachers finish for the second and it was a brilliant, typical Adrian Segecic for the third. I’m absolutely delighted for him because he has had an excellent season.”

  3. 'We were not the team we want to be'published at 17:58 BST

    FT: Oxford 4-1 Sheff Wed

    Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Henrik Pedersen told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"We were not the team we want to be. If you look at the last two to two-and-a-half months we have had a lot of good performances, very stable performances. We have seen a strong culture and a big culture.

"Today, I missed this strong culture. It has been a tough week for the players, we ran a lot on Wednesday evening at Middlesbrough and you can see today we were not as strong mentally as we normally are.

"When we don't have this we lose the connection. When we lose the connection we lose all the quality through the team, especially in the first half.

"I think in the second half we were much stronger defensively, we were stronger offensively and also created chances. But generally it wasn't a good performance for how we want to be at Sheffield Wednesday."

Norwich saw their late play-off push come to an end as they were held to a draw at home by Swansea.

Victory might have left them with a chance going into the final day depending on Wrexham's result against Coventry tomorrow.

The Canaries boss Philippe Clement has told BBC Radio Norfolk:

"If you see where the club was five months ago and now the reaction of the people, my staff, my players deserved that today. Everyone stayed and stayed positive.

"Everyone is disappointed the dream isn't possible anymore but this is a family again.

"I am proud of what the team is showing - a good football team playing nice football.

"We need to use this for fuel for next season so these are important moments that in disappointment or when you are not happy you learn the right things.

"Let's focus on ourselves and work hard to make the squad better than it was this season."

Stoke City boss Mark Robins spoke to BBC Radio Stoke after his side's 3-1 home defeat by Portsmouth:

“It was a really slow performance from both teams and we were poor.

“From start to finish we lacked energy, lacked enthusiasm and know-how. It was a really poor way to end the season [at home].

“There were times where we think we are running and working hard, but there is not enough in that team to win football matches consistently at the level.

“It was one of those lacklustre performances that you get on a really warm day, but to finish the season you’ve got to go and run.

“Honestly, we talk about things and its rhetoric then and it doesn’t mean anything. I’m disappointed, clearly.”

  6. Bloomfield 'excited for future' despite relegationpublished at 17:48 BST

    FT: Oxford 4-1 Sheff Wed

    Oxford United

Oxford United boss Matt Bloomfield told BBC Radio Oxford:

"Complete mix [of emotions]. Obviously extreme disappointment at what's happened today in terms of the position of the football club, but that's certainly mixed in with pride for our supporters and the way they have supported the boys over the season and today.

"The way they welcomed the group at the end, there's also a lot of hope for the future.

"I'm really excited for the future, but I have to admit my overriding feeling today is one of disappointment.

"You look at yourself all the time, it's just a part of trying to get better. You always have to assess and re-assess, you have to try and learn from setbacks, so of course I look at myself."

Jaydon Banel scored a spectacular late winner for Derby to keep alive their play-off hopes.

They came from behind twice and Banel has told BBC Radio Derby:

"It was a much-needed win after we lost the last game last week so I made sure today we won.

"The boss realised I was a bit disappointed being on the bench but we have a good bond and he said when I come on to show what I can do and I did that.

"You have to trust your quality and the whole team did that - the table was screaming at us that we needed to win.

"We watched the Hull game on the bus on the way to this match so the message was we are leaving today with three points."

It's time for the Coates family to sell Stoke City. Eight years of mediocrity and bottom of mid-table finishes. We need an owner with a plan and some ambition.

The last time Stoke finished in the top half of a table was 2015-16 when they finished ninth in the Premier League. That must feel like a long, long time ago for Potters fans now.

Derby must hope Wrexham fail to take maximum points against Coventry tomorrow in order to keep alive their play-off hopes on the final day of the Championship season.

That's after they twice came from behind to win 3-2 at QPR.

Rams boss John Eustace has been speaking to BBC Radio Derby:

"That typifies our season, it's Derby County - we go through some difficult moments and keep fighting and get through it for a great win.

"I knew the first hour would be a difficult time after the efforts we put in on Tuesday - it was important we rested a couple of players and luckily today it's worked.

"The impact of the squad was exactly what I wanted and expected.

"The league is judged on 46 games so it's important my group stay positive and we'll end up where we deserve to be after 46 games."

Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones told BBC Radio London:

"I'm delighted. Relief is the biggest thing because I don't think we should have been in this position after the start to the season [we had] with the group we've got.

"We know we're playing in a very difficult league and maybe lack a little bit of the quality that others have to put teams to bed.

"If you'd asked me at the beginning of the season if I'd taken this, I probably wouldn't.

"For us to move and do what we want to do next year, the first stage is we have to be a Championship side.

"And we've done that, and I'm proud of the group because we've had a tough time this year."

Mike White talking to Sergej Jakirovic after Hull City lose 2-1 away at Charlton.

Hull City boss Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside:

“We didn’t score more goals than Charlton, it’s very simple. First half we did not play good, I was not satisfied with our performance because we didn’t do anything really, very, very slow.

“The goal [from Charlie Kelman] is fantastic but we messed up this because in our analysis meeting before the game it was that we obviously mark him because they are always one or two in front, so we have to always be one more.

“We equalised through Egan, which is perfect for us and how we played. And in the second half I think we played much better, with Mo Belloumi’s substitution, with some changes to the side on the pitch, and we had a few very good opportunities to score the second goal.

“We have to score a goal at this moment. Unfortunately we didn’t and we conceded the second goal, which is unacceptable.

“That guy takes the ball, through the pitch without any contact from three of our players. In this league, you must make a tactical foul.

“We tried everything, I don’t know how many times we entered their box.”

West Brom secured their Championship status with an impressive performance to earn a goalless draw with Ipswich.

It came after they had two points deducted yesterday for a breach of financial regulations.

Interim head coach James Morrison told BBC Radio WM:

"We've done our talking on the pitch the last few weeks and we knew what we had to do going into the game.

"We were in a really good place with fight and determination - we knew what we had to do and that was it.

"We had a chat at dinner and I didn't have to say too much and we rolled straight into it."

Ipswich are back into second place in the Championship and will need a maximum of four points from their remaining two games to win promotion back to the Premier League.

Head coach Kieran McKenna told BBC Radio Suffolk:

"It was a really tough game and was always going to be that.

"The pitch wasn't good for this time of the year and we were up against a really motivated team.

"We took control of it in the second half but weren't able to get the winning goal.

"I don't think you ever go into a game wanting a point but it was important not to lose today, we'd rather have three points but we hope it's a good point."

The pressure has increased on Watford boss Ed Still after a 5-1 thrashing at Middlesbrough - their fourth successive defeat.

Still has told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"The result is really painful for everyone.

"There were two parts to it - the performance in the first half was really good, we had control in midfield and you could feel they were worried.

"They changed it at half-time to deal with it but the movement, quality on the ball and the chances we created were really positive.

"We're flaky in both boxes but the result isn't based on just this game it's a result of the whole season.

"Everything on and off the pitch is draining but it doesn't justify a result like today."

Boro boss Kim Hellberg spoke to BBC Radio Tees:

"In the first half we were 2-0 up but not doing many good things.

"The second half we were brilliant in every aspect of the game - we played quick, were dangerous in the box and it was one of our best displays of the season.

"That second half is what we want to be at home and I'm very happy with everything in a tough week where we have played three games."
