Olympic pommel champion Rhys McClenaghan is in pursuit of a first major medal since his comeback from a year out injured.

He won Commonwealth Gold in 2018 and then silver in Birmingham four years ago and is aiming to win NI's first gold of these Games in Glasgow.

He said he was "nervous" before qualifying on Friday, but he showed little of those nerves on the apparatus as he delivered a big score of 14.500 with his new routine and celebrated with a little jig.

His coach Luke Carson said they have an even more advanced version of the routine to test out today so those in the Glasgow International Arena should be in for a treat.

Well how about that?! Canada's Jordan Carroll gets a 9.000 for execution which takes his score to a whopping 15.000.

It's going to take something incredible to beat that.

For context, the winning score at the last Commonwealth Games was 14.833.

I was at the gym earlier and I spotted a woman watching highlights of Rhys McClenaghan's dazzling qualifying routine.

I would have done the same it was that good to watch only I was trying my best not to fall off the stair master.

England stretch out their advantage to 22 with 18 goals in the third quarter in the Hydro.

Olivia Tchine has taken her personal tally to 24.

Just the 15 more minutes to go before the Roses finish a job well done.

Australia's Jesse Moore, who won bronze in the all-around final yesterday, is the first to take on the pommel horse.

He comes off the apparatus mid-routine and is deducted a point, which leaves him with a score of 12.833.

Marios Georgiou of Cypress moves into first with 13.100.

The men's pommel horse final is just about to get under way.

Rhys McClenaghan is representing Northern Ireland, while Reuben Ward and Cameron Lynn are competing for Scotland.

England's Adam Tobin, who won silver in the men's team final, is also in action.

England didn't allow Kenya to earn a single point during their 21-0 victory in the wheelchair men's 3x3 basketball contest.

Their dominant performance sees them join the England wheelchair women's team in the semi-finals on Wednesday after topping Pool A with three wins and 57 points.

Sasha Glasgow has moved into goal attack for England in this third quarter and already has six goals to her name.

The Roses have come out with a point to prove and are in cruise control.

Wales' fastest ever man Jeremiah Azu is happy to be back in the red vest and eased into the semi-finals of the 100m.

Last year's world indoor champion won his heat in a time of 10:10 seconds - sixth fastest in qualifying.

A Commonwealth Games boxing match is only meant to last nine minutes, eh?

Well, there was a wee bit of afters outside the ring following Nick Devlin's split-decision win over Ebenezer Ankrah from Ghana.

A tight bout, the Scotsman was granted a little bit of breathing space courtesy of Ankrah's point deduction for handling in the third round. Coorie in, son.

At times, it appeared he was hanging onto the 25-year-old with dear life, but when the warning was issued, Ankrah's supporters and Ghanaian media were livid.

Heckles to the referee pierced through the jubilant home support who had just watched Devlin move to one fight away from a medal, and they continued out onto the concourse post-fight.

A few volunteers created a bit of space as tempers flared, but eventually, things started to calm down.

Nothing to see here...

Welsh fighter Owain Harris-Allan is more than ready to face home favourite Nicholas Devlin in the quarter-finals.

Harris-Allan, 22, celebrated a unanimous victory against Niven Chemben from Mauritius.

The lightweight from Cardiff, a bronze medalist in four years ago, will next fight Scotland's Devlin on Wednesday for a place in the semi-finals.

More sharp passing and movement in the second quarter from England who have made Malawi work very hard.

The Roses reach half time by stretching their advantage to 14 points.

Northern Ireland go for their first win of the tournament against Tonga at 16:00 BST and later, in Pool B Scotland face Trinidad & Tobago (21:00 BST).

• England's Imani Lansiquot's time of 11.04 seconds was the best time across the women's 100m heats, while Mabel Akande also won her heat to progress to the semi-finals.
• Scotland's Stephen Mackenzie qualified for the long jump final with a jump of 7.75m.
• England's Samuel Bennett was the fastest across the two heats in the men's 110m hurdles, while his compatriot Tade Ojara also qualified.

• Northern Ireland's Caitlin Fryers is into the quarter-finals of the women's 51kg boxing after defeating Zinnat Ferdous of Bangladesh by unaminous decision.
• There were also wins for Scotland's Nicolas Devlin and Wales' Owain Harris-Allan in the men's 60kg round of 16.
• England's Abigail Martin took silver in the women's vault, while Wales' Abigail Roper won bronze.
• And Luke Whitehouse won gold in the men's floor.

No let up from England at the start of the second quarter as they seek to put behind them that pummelling by Australia yesterday.

Head coach Anna Stembridge admitted in the wake of that loss they had turned over the ball on too many occasions and would take those learnings into today's game.

So far, so good for the Roses.
