So, this stage is shaped like a big crisscross, obviously based upon Scotland's national flag, the Saltire.

It's funky look is going to come in handy here for the rather creative flag handover.

Along the crossed pathways of the Saltire, the nations’ flags enter, led from one side by Scotland’s flag followed by the folded Games flag, and from the opposite side by India’s flag.

On Wednesday night, Melanie Woods had her first Commonwealth Games medal taken away from her.

But Saturday night, she had two around her neck. Both of them were gold.

The 31-year-old won the women's 1500m T54 on Wednesday, then again on Friday, after it was decided the race should be restaged after an accident.

And she backed that up in her home city by romping to victory in the 400m in a season's best time of 56.43 seconds.

"I think the emotions were really coming to the surface tonight," she told BBC Sport Scotland. "I was actually just reflecting on what a week it's been. It's been so up and down. There's been so many emotions and I think it'll take me a few days to, for that to sink in."

As Jackie rightly says, tonight is not only about about Glasgow saying cheerio to the Games, it's about passing the baton to Ahmedabad, who will host the next edition in four years time.

So, expect a cross of cultures, from Scotland to India.
