That's the end of the third quarter and England have got a mountain to climb.

They trail New Zealand by nine and it is going to take something very special to deny the Silver Ferns a place in the gold medal game.

With Grace Nweke seemingly scoring at will, England needed to make a change and, after a reshuffle, Jayda Pechova comes on at goalkeeper with captain Fran Williams going off.

Too many errors from England in this third quarter.

They're managing to slow New Zealand down but the Silver Ferns have the advantage, are happy to be patient and inevitably find the pass to Grace Nweke in the end.

Five minutes left in the third quarter and there are seven goals in it.

Team Wales captain Olivia Breen celebrated an "incredible week" with T38 long jump gold last night just days after winning T38 100m silver - and turning 30.

Breen earned her fifth Commonwealth Games medal and third gold with a 5.09m first round jump.

The height advantage that Grace Nweke has over the England defence means they're having to take risks to prevent the ball getting into her.

Once it does, she is able to bring in those high balls every time.

The lead is back up to nine and New Zealand seem to have this semi-final under control.

Not the start that England wanted after half-time.

Grace Nweke scores three quick goals to stretch New Zealand's lead to seven before Eleanor Cardwell shoots through contact to get one back.

The second half is under way. What have England got?

While we wait for the second half to begin, there's time to mark your card and let you know that the track cycling and Para-track cycling will be starting in the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome from 10:00 BST.

It's the men's sprint qualifying to get things started with the quarter-finals to come at at 11:33, 12:13 and 12:48.

Eleanor Cardwell has scored 11 goals from 11 shots since being introduced from the bench, she's the top-scorer for England.

Lois Pearson has nine and Liv Tchine four.

For New Zealand, it has all been about feeding Grace Nweke. She has scored 24 of their 29 goals with Georgia Heffernan - who has scored five from five - acting more as a facilitator.

That's a bonus for England - a first miss of the game from Grace Nweke.

They make it count and move back to within four inside the last minute of the half.

Nweke gets it back to five and New Zealand maintain the same advantage they had after the first quarter.

Still all to play for after the break.

That's a real momentum killer for England!

Excellent interception from Kelly Jackson, flying in to win the ball back for New Zealand and just like that the lead is back up to seven.

Great defensive play from Imogen Allison, tipping the ball off the New Zealand player to win possession for England.

New Zealand so nearly pinch the ball back but Allison is there again, scooping the ball up and passing it all in one movement to keep the attack going.

Eleanor Cardwell makes sure it leads to a goal, quickly adds another and England are right back in, just four goals behind.

With a little over six minutes left in this second quarter, England are clinging on. Still six behind but just one down in the quarter.

It's an improvement but they still need that little bit more.

Loose pass from New Zealand and the crowd love that.

England nearly lose it in the middle third, salvage it but then fail to secure the ball inside the D.

A scrappy passage of play but it ends with another Silver Ferns goal.

Excellent response from England. Three quick goals to move back to within six of New Zealand.

There's still no stopping Grace Nweke, she has scored 18 from 18 shots with the latest coming after a superb tip to intercept from Kate Heffernan.

England are suddenly nine goals down. They can't let this advantage grow any further otherwise this semi-final will quickly slip away from them.

Much better, active defence from England. It manages to slow New Zealand but they find a way through eventually.

That's more of what is needed from Anna Stembridge's team, though.

We may be north of the border but the Hydro is packed full of England fans.

They queued in large numbers to get in for this early start and every goal from the Roses has been met with deafening cheers.
