Swansea City expect to sign Manchester City winger Jeremy Monga on loan for the rest of the season, despite the proposed exits of Ronald and Zeidane Inoussa collapsing on deadline day.
Swansea say a deal for 17-year-old Monga is agreed, with all paperwork completed before Tuesday's 23:00 BST transfer deadline, and expect to announce the deal on Wednesday.
The Championship club pushed ahead with their plan to sign Monga despite the fact that head coach Vitor Matos will be let with a raft of options out wide, with Joseph Opoku, Moussa Yeo and Eom Jisung.
Ronald had been en-route to London after Swansea agreed a fee – believed to have been £2m – with Millwall for the Brazilian winger.
However, the move did not materialise with Matos suggesting he had been unable to agree terms with the Lions.
Fellow wide player Inoussa, meanwhile, had been due to join Portsmouth on loan for the rest of the season only for his departure to be called off too.
Matos, meanwhile, says he cannot stay for certain whether striker Zan Vipotnik will remain at Swansea despite the closure of the English transfer window.

The Swansea head coach pointed out that a transfer involving last season's Championship top scorer remains a possibility because of windows in Portugal, Turkey and Saudi Arabia remain open.
When asked about Vipotnik, Matos said: "At the moment, yes, he is with us. But some markets are still open, so we never know what happens.
"He's here and I'm really happy if he stays. We all love him. It's not easy in dealing with all the noise, of course.
"We hope he is here, but that is the hard part of the transfer window, that some markets are still open that are massive opportunities for players."
Swansea climbed to the top of the Championship on Tuesday courtesy of an impressive 2-0 victory over Watford.
Speaking after the game – and shortly before the 23:00 BST deadline - Matos confirmed Ronald's proposed move to Millwall was not happening.
"As far as I know, [he] didn't reach an agreement, so he's part of the team," he said.
Matos added that he was "not really clear" on Inoussa's situation but the former Sweden Under-21 international would be "staying as well".
As well as missing out on Monga, Swansea saw their attempts to sign a defender on deadline day come to nothing.
Soumaila Coulibaly had been a potential recruit but the Strasbourg player instead signed for Watford.
