India are definitely favourites to win this tournament. They are in great form, and dispatched England with ease before the tournament. They kicked off the tournament with a statement win against Bangladesh.

Pakistan didn't even look close to India today.

What a showman - Virat Kohli hit a four to win the game and take him to a 51st ODI century in the process.

If you're just tuning in - Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat and eventually posted 241 all out.

India always looked in control despite losing their skipper early on...

And India legend Virat Kohli steered them over the line.

India captain Rohit Sharma: "I think the way we started with the ball was a great effort from the bowling unit. We wanted to back the experience that we have in our batting line-up to go and get those runs.

"The credit goes to the guys in the middle. They've played a lot of this format and they know what is required of them. We wanted to stay there as long as possible. Not to forget the way Pakistan bowled as well. Everyone came to the party and did what was required of them.

"A lot of the credit goes to the players. We've played a lot of cricket together, especially in this format. It can be tricky at times because some guys won't get to bowl all 10 overs.

"Virat loves representing the country. He wants to be out there playing for the team and doing what he does best, which is what he did today. People in the dressing room aren't surprised with what he did."

Kohli is now one of the top trends on social media. People are writing congratulatory messages for the master. Questions over his form and his place in the team are now firmly in the rear-view mirror. And what a moment he chose to return to form. A century is always special but when an Indian player gets a hundred against Pakistan, it’s remembered for decades. Kohli is back at the centre of Indian cricket.

Pakistan captain Muhammad Rizwan: "We thought 280 was a good score on that pitch but their bowlers bowled very well. Me and Saud Shakeel took our time because we wanted to go deep but after that, there was some poor shot selection. They bowled very well, put us under pressure, and that's why we only got 240.

"When you lose, it means you didn't perform in all departments. They were more attacking and we didn't get the wickets we wanted. We failed to squeeze [them].

"We need to improve our fielding. We know that we did a lot of mistakes in this match and last match as well. We can work on that."

India player Virat Kohli: "It feels good to be able to bat in that manner. To contribute in a situation like that where we lost Rohit early. I had to get used to the conditions, understand how to go about things. My job was to go through the middle order, play the seamers. It was more or less the way I play ODI cricket.

"I have a decent understanding of my game over the years. It's about keeping the noise and distractions away. I had to take care of my energy levels and my thoughts. It's easy for me to get pulled into the expectations and frenzy of these games. My job is to help my team. I'm going to put my 100% in every game. I take a lot of pride running in the field as well.

"A week off is really good for me. It takes a lot out of me to keep putting that effort in the field."

There wasn't enough runs on the board, India didn't have to do anything extraordinary to win.

Pakistan will be devastated that they've been virtually knocked out of their home tournament.

A strange game in that it never felt in much jeopardy for India but they do look a very tough nut to crack.
