Match Facts

  • Bayern Munich have faced Norwegian sides eight times previously in major European competition without losing (W6 D2) – their most recent meeting was in a 1-1 draw with Rosenborg in the first group stage of the UEFA Champions League in November 2000.

  • Bodø/Glimt are winless in all three of their major European matches against German teams, losing 6-1 on aggregate to Werder Bremen in the 1999-00 UEFA Cup (0-5 home, 1-1 away) and drawing 2-2 with Borussia Dortmund in last season’s UEFA Champions League.

  • Bayern Munich have won their opening game in each of their last 23 major European campaigns (22 in the UEFA Champions League, 1 in the UEFA Cup), stretching back to 2003-04. Spanish side Deportivo de La Coruña were the last to stop Bayern winning, beating them 3-2 in 2002-03.

  • Last season was Bodø/Glimt’s first ever UEFA Champions League campaign, winning five of their 12 matches (D3 L4) and reaching the last 16. All five of their wins came in succession, between January and March.

  • Bayern Munich have won 36 of their last 38 home UEFA Champions League group/league phase matches (D2) since losing 3-2 to Manchester City back in December 2013 under Pep Guardiola.

  • Bodø/Glimt had a five-game winning streak in the UEFA Champions League last season – this was the longest run by a team from outside of Europe’s big five leagues since Ajax in 2021-22, who won six in a row.

  • Only Barcelona in 1999-00 and Paris SG last season (both 45) have scored more goals in a single season of the UEFA Champions League than Bayern Munich in 2025-26 (43). Bayern scored four or more goals in six different matches, the joint most of any side in a European Cup season (since 1955), along with Barcelona in 1999-00 and Real Madrid in 2013-14.

  • Since the 2023-24 season when he joined Bayern Munich, Harry Kane has scored more UEFA Champions League goals than any other player (33). Kane has scored in his last seven appearances – Robert Lewandowski was the last player to score in more consecutively, netting in nine in a row between November 2020 and November 2021 also for Bayern Munich.

  • Michael Olise created 33 chances for Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League last season, with only Real Madrid's Arda Güler creating more (34). His six assists were the joint most by a Bayern player in a season, along with Hasan Salihamidzic in 2001-02 and Leroy Sané in 2021-22.

  • Jens Petter Hauge scored six goals for Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League last season, the most by any player for a Norwegian club in a single edition.
