Plymouth target attacking signing after Oseni injury

Plymouth Argyle will search for another attacking player after striker Owen Oseni was ruled out for up to a month with a thigh injury.

The 23-year-old. who made his Nigeria debut in May, missed Monday night's Carabao Cup first round win over Devon rivals Exeter City.

Scans have shown an issue that could take three to four weeks to repair.

With Michael Baidoo out until November and Caleb Watts and Tegan Finn also out, it leaves the Pilgrims with few options in attack.

"It's a changing landscape and what can you bring in? Who's the best player you can bring in, wide player or centre-forward?," boss Tom Cleverley told BBC Sport.

"But we'll be working hard to try and strengthen that department for sure.

"I can't give you a straight answer whether it'll be a wide player or a nine."

The club signed Will Evans last week, with the former Mansfield Town striker making his debut on Monday night.

Meanwhile, Wales youth international winger Freddie Issaka made a positive cameo from the bench as he helped set up Argyle's second goal for Bim Pepple.

But Cleverley feels he needs more experience in his side.

"The emergence of Freddie is really positive, but senior guys we're four for four positions again," he added.

"Caleb Watts is closer, rehabbing really well, he'll train tomorrow, won't be ready for Saturday, but potentially Wycombe.

"So that's one back, but we're approaching the first league game with four for four positions on the top line, which is close to the bone."
