Stags re-sign Tottenham midfielder Abbott on loan

Mansfield Town have re-signed Tottenham Hotspur midfielder George Abbott on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old featured 11 times for the Stags last term, having started that campaign on loan with their League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers.

Mansfield boss Nigel Clough said Abbott "won't be fully fit when he arrives" back at One Call Stadium, but added that he will be available in "a few weeks".

"We were hugely impressed with him last season and hope he'll complement our midfield for the remainder of the season," Clough told the Stags website., external
